      Hva gjør dere om 10-15 år? Kommer dere til å fortsette å ha ny hund da? Det er umulig å vite men hva tror dere? Hvor gamle er dere? Jeg selv aner ikke. Ser ingen liv utenom hund men nå har jeg hatt hund hele voksne liv. Men om jeg skal fortsette med hundetrening,kurs,utstilling vites ikke. Da må jeg ha noe annen hobby men jeg vet ikke hva.       Det er variasjon i egenskaper innad i rasen, men generelt vil jeg påstå at Hovawarten er mer samlet mentalt. De skal ha arbeids- og samarbeidslyst. Til forskjell fra mange av gjeterne kan de nok virke litt sta og egenrådige, men mitt inntrykk er at det veldig ofte er fører som ikke har knekt koden for å motivere til samarbeid med en hund som gjerne arbeider selvstendig. Det som gjør at jeg tror hoffen kan passe deg ut i fra din beskrivelse av ønsker er: - "atletiske og friske bruksschäfere der «mykere» egenskaper vektlegges" - Hoffen er en generelt frisk rase, med en funksjonell bygning. Det finnes dessuten et enormt helseregister hvor det er god oversikt over forskjellige sykdommer.  -  "Hunden som jeg ser etter er atletisk og lett, elsker å bruke nesen til f eks smeller, fungerer bra til lydighet, veldig lite skarp og ikke like mye drifter og «heithet» som hos de heftigste bruksschäfere, men ellers med forventede egenskaper av en schäferhund i en sunn kropp." - dette er for meg egentlig essensen av en hoffe. De er veldig alsidige uten å være ekstreme, og perfekte som aktive familiehunder med kapasitet for langt mer. De er atletiske og holdbare (noe variasjon i størrelse er det). Elsker å bruke nesa og trener gjerne lydighet. Den gjennomsnittlige hoffen har lite skarphet. De har (og skal ha) en del drifter, men de aller fleste er mer moderate enn de heftigste bruksschäferne. Det en skal være klar over, er at det er en vokter. De skal dog ikke vokte på alt og alle. Mine følger for eksempel gjerne med på det som skjer utendørs, men varsler kun i veldig spesielle tilfeller (hvis det plutselig står en ukjent hund på gårdsplassen eller om det er unormal aktivitet på natta). De reagerer for eksempel ikke om det banker på døra. Lager ikke lyd når jeg kommer hjem eller om noen de kjenner kommer inn uanmeldt når jeg ikke er hjemme.
